A Girl And Her Dog

Dagny from the very start didn’t mind Lily very much. Which is great because, Lily could be… well how should I put it… very excited. She is the sweetest dog around. She wouldn’t hurt a fly, OK perhaps a fly but only if it was in her face, but wouldn’t you? We were never worried that Lily would ever do anything to harm Dagny, ever. Due to Lily’s excitement when someone comes to our house we were a little concerned with how Dagny would react to having a dog trying to lick her from head to toe and run around her like she was a merry-go-round. So when the day finally came for us to be home, yeah by the way, we were surprised that Dagny really didn’t mind Lily jumping and trying to lick her.

Now, if Lily tries to lick Dagny, she puts her head down as she crawls away from her and laughs. It’s one of the funnest things. Lily on the other hand is very much jealous of Dagny. We figured she would be because we perhaps babied her a little too much, but it so hard not to. But, that’s another blog.

Dagny and Lily are not at the point where they play with each other. Dagny is still too young for that, but when Craig is around the three of them play together. That is such a cute site. They play fetch. Dagny initially sits on Craig’s lap as Craig throws the bone and Lily runs for it. Dagny finds this hysterical. Then as time goes by Dagny tries to give Lily the bone, but of course Lily looks at her like, throw it, I want to run. Then when Lily doesn’t take it she gives it to Craig to throw. This goes on and on. As the game comes to an end it ends with Dagny patting Lily and Lily trying to lick her. It is the story of a girl and her dog.

Let the game start

“Fetch, Lily”

“You can’t have my phone”

“Daddy, you throw it”

Yeah

“I don’t have the bone”

“Do you have glasses?”

“Good doggy!”

Two Is Better Then One, Right?

From the very beginning Dagny has had a fascination with glasses. I remember when I first held her in my arms and I thought “Wow, she is gazing into my eyes”, little did I know she was figuring out how to get my glasses off my face. She never did go for Craig’s glasses, I figured because mine stick out being that they are black frames while Craig’s glasses are light color and blend in. I always had to be on my toes when I held her. I think I have become a pro. In fact, I would say I have reached black belt status. So, why the back story? Well, you see Craig is still an amateur. I would perhaps put him at yellow belt status. Craig thought because he has one of those flex frames he didn’t have to be quite as quick so he didn’t hone in on his skills. That’s to bad, because Dagny saw the flex frame as a challenge. She wanted to prove that indeed you can flex them too far. She accomplished her goal. I love her determination.

But, two is better then one, right?

two

Guess, who is picking up his new glasses this Monday?

We have fun here at the Johnson’s

The one thing we always said was when we finally start our family we wanted to have fun. We are all about being silly, joking, and laughing. Dagny seems to be on the same page with us because boy is she one fun child.

Seriously, how cute?

Dagny’s Annual Photo

Craig and I started a tradition with Dagny. Every year around her birthday we are going to take a photo of her in the same chair wearing the same outfit (blue jeans, white t-shirt and white socks). It’s our little time line of our little girl. We also think she will appreciate it when she gets older if not we will. 🙂

Here she is 1 year old – 2008
