Happy 22 Months, Dagny!

Dearest Dagny,

You are such a amazing little girl and I am still amazed at how much you’re changing everyday.

my pretty girl

You seem so much more mature in many ways. Don’t get me wrong, you have your “moments”, and they are impressive. What I have noticed about your tantrums they come in waves. You have a couple of bad days and then you’re A-OK for days at a time. I am still not sure what sets off your “moments” (Daddy doesn’t like me calling them meltdowns), I guess it’s the typical frustration of things.

You’re doing great in school. You love going, in fact you would go everyday if you had your way. I swear I am not exaggerating. Most days (you only go twice) I have “teachers” stop me and tell me that they just love you and that you’re great. I have also been told that the older kids adore you as well. You just have this amazing ability to have people dote on you.

You are learning so much in daycare. You’ve started singing the ABC song, for real! You go up to “A B C” and then it’s in Dagny language. If I asked you to say your ABC you go up to “A B C D E”, not bad for someone that isn’t even 2 yet. You also are starting to recognize your letters, which you and Daddy practice at bath time in the tub with your foam letters. You will say the entire alphabet after repeating me.

Here is audio that we did back when Erika and Emerson were here.

You are now starting to call me “Mommy”, 50% of time. I am not sure if I am ready for this. It’s just, after “Mommy” comes “Mom” and I am ready for that. This past weekend you have started calling your daddy “Daddy”, he is taking it a lot better then I am .

You are starting to take one nap now. You seem ready for this and transitioning well.

You have started to be more of a picker eater. In the beginning you would eat pretty much anything I put on your plate. Not so much anymore. But, you are still willing to try new things. Right now your favorite fruits are “apples and watermelons”. And surprisingly you love broccoli and most vegetables.

We can’t wait to go back to Dr. P next week and find out what your new stats are and what she thinks of your progress.

This week we are meeting with a lawyer to get you “re-adopted” in NYS. You will be issued a NYS Birth Certificate and then we are done with all your paperwork in the US. You already have your US Passport and your Social Security card. All that’s left will be three more Post Placement reports, one of which will be done at the end of October.

Agi Mama came back from Hungary last weekend and she bought you a whole bunch of goodies. The only thing you were interested in was the books she got you. You were SO excited about them, if I would of known what your reaction was going to be I would of had the camera ready. You could care less about the two dolls. You are actually not that into dolls. Right now you’re into your bears and Sesame Street charterers, which you treat like your babies. You feed them, talk with them, and have them talk to each other. I love how you hold their hands and walk with them like we walk you. Your dad and I think it might be because they are so super soft.

Ever since we got the new car all you want to do is go for a ride. Everyday you say “car” and go to the garage door with your bears in hand. I try and plan some errands around the time your home so I can take you for a ride. This is good news, because we have a long drive to Boston early next month. We are going to meet up with Uncle Emeric, Aunt Edit, and your cousins for my birthday. I am very excited.

We are about to enter my favorite time of the year, Autumn! More specifically the month of October and not because it’s my birthday month, I promise. I am so excited to be spending the first fall with you. We have so much planned already, from going to Binghampton, Boston, Zooboo, Grandma Jen’s visit, apple picking, hayrides, pumpkins, trick or treating (already have your costume), and so much more.

I love you so much!
