It’s Not An Illusion

Ok, I’m just going to jump right into a Dagny post.

Here she is. She’s grown, hasn’t she? Yeah, I know. She’s so big and lets admit it, beautiful! She’s also a smarty pants. She’s reading at a 2nd grade level. And its not just reading, but math, science, and everything in between. Kiddo got some smarts.

My beautiful girl

We’re also noticing she is quite an athlete. She loves swimming and soccer.

This was at her first game of the season and her first goal of the season.

Now the weather is getting warmer, we have ventured outside into the great outdoors. Luckily, Dagny loves to be on the go.

Craig loves his little girl so much. He is an amazing father. I really hope Dagny sees that when she’s old enough to understand what that means.

Seabreeze is open for the season and someone is very excited about that.

Not sure what they are looking at, but love the faces.

Not even sure what to say about this, she’s becoming so much more braver. The one thing I have always admired about Dagny is that she never let herself be pressured into doing things physically that her peers might be able to do. She has always known her limits. Now, it seems as she is getting older, she is pushing her limits more. But, only after she feel comfortable that she can do it.

Love this smile.

We Are Still Here At Casa De Johnson

January pretty much went by in a blink of an eye and with no post from me. I really did have every intention of posting, but seriously one day it was the 1st and the next it was the 31st. With that said, I have tons of photos to share. There really is something to the saying, time flies when you’re having fun. BAM.

Winter shows itself once in awhile.

Here is Lily Girl enjoying the snow. Winter is her favorite season.

When it actually was winter-like-weather we try to take advantage and do winter-like activities, most notably sledding.

Dagny actually went down the hill all by herself.

Erika came for a two week visit during her break from college  Love my Erika!

Here are my two girls being silly. Love my girls!

One reason for my lack of posting is because we’ve been busy. Dagny is still in dance (ballet and tap) and she is really enjoying it.  This year she also started skating lessons. Craig is really enjoying the lessons with his little girl.

Dagny started swim lessons a few weeks back. Having a pool, we felt that formal training would be a good idea. And of course she loves it. Here she is with her BFF.

Dagny and her best friend, Samantha, have been hanging out a lot. They went to their first 3-D movie, The Beauty and the Beast.

And, here they are at Disney on Ice.

My mom and I went to the Eastman Theater to listen/see Itzhak Perlman. What that man can do with the violin is indescribable. Only thing I can compare it to is velvet to the ears.

We went to the Museum of Play to check out their new visiting exhibit, The Wizard of Oz.

Due to the less then stellar winter like conditions, Dagny has been able to ride her bike. She actually rode there and back to our local library. Before heading home, we got some books and stopped at the playground.

Dagny’s imagination has taken off big time. The girl can play for hours with her toys. She also loves to put shows on for us. Here she is putting on a TV show.  Sometime starting her or her stuff animals. I am really enjoying this stage.

Here she is as Super Dagny.

Her passion for drawing has also taken off. I just love the things she is able to draw now. Here is Mommy Bear. I think  she did a fantastic job!

What else? Oh, yes. We have I think a total of three tress on our property and when we had some really high winds one of our tress went down. In hindsight we were very lucky how it fell.

What’s one more photo of my pretty girl.

4th Annual Biro Bonfire

After Dagny’s dance class on Saturday we headed down to Binghamton for the 4th Annual Biro Bonfire. I look forward to this weekend every year.  It was great seeing my family along with the extended family too. As Dagny is getting older, the weekend gets so much more enjoyable.

Father’s Day, Plus Other Things

We had a lovely Father’s Day.  We had fun in our backyard playing around, going out for a late lunch, and putting a fence up. Okay, putting up the fence part was all Craig.  He did about 95 percent of the install of the removable fence around the pool. We are very excited about having the extra security in our backyard. It puts more ease on our minds when being out there with D and her friends.

Monday, Dagny had her last day of gymnastics for this round.  Parents were invited to observer.  We were impressed with how much they do with them at this age.  To our pleasant surprise she was good at the different activities.  Most importantly she was having fun. After class the kids were called individually up to the podium and received a ribbon.  It was too cute.

The weather can’t seem to make up it’s mind.  It seems it’s either summer or spring here.  One day hot, the other rainy.

This is a summer day:

This is a spring day:

Lily

This was literally one day to the next. Can’t wait for summer to start. Ugh.

Anyway, we are making the best of what we can about going outside.  Dagny has really gotten into riding her tricycle. We have graduated from the driveway and now are actually going on longer rides in our neighborhood.  Oh, and girl is fast. She likes to push her invisible button on her bike that makes her tricycle become super-fast and become Super Dagny.

Super Dagny

Dagny

I will end this post with a Dagnyism. She says the funniest things.

Dagny: Mommy, I need to brush my teeth, because if I don’t I’ll have cabbages.

Me: Do you mean cavities?

Dagny: Yes, that’s what I said.
