Hey, We’re Famous!

November is National Adoption Month.

I can’t put it into words how grateful I am for being able to have Dagny in my life.  I have never thought it was possible to love a person as much as I love my daughter.  I can’t even put the emotion into words.  She is the most precious thing to me and her father.

I am so happy we had the chance to share our experience this month with a local magazine, Genesse Valley Parent.  Check out the Johnsons online or you can get your very copy around town for free!

ZooBoo 2012

We met up with our friend, Jessica, and her son, Mason, for our annual ZooBoo outing. The weather was perfect. It’s was warm and with a chance of rain, which equals to no crowd. Win, win for all.

Dagny wanted to be a Doctor this year for Halloween. (Currently, she wants to be a doctor when she grows up. )

I just love this photo of her checking the lion’s (Chester) breathing.

She’s gotten so big.

I still can’t believe I am this little girl’s mother. I am the luckiest person in the world.  She is truly my world!

First Day of Kindergarten

“Kindergarten is cool!” – DAGNY, after the first day of school. Phew.

The time has arrived for our little girl to be off to school.  Sigh.

Thankfully, the transition from daycare couldn’t have gone any smoother then it has gone for her.

For Me? Not so much. One of the hardest parts for me has been putting her on the bus. Up until now it has been me who took Dagny every morning to daycare.  Having that role taken away for me is an adjustment.  But, I think the hardest adjustment has been being out of the loop. We have no idea what / how she is doing at school.  We had been spoiled at Doodle Bugs.  They had cameras in classrooms and around the center. I was able to login and check in on her.  Most importantly when I would pick her up I talked with her teachers and got a daily report. This is no longer the case. And Dagny is not sharing much. I hope that will change with time, but for now it’s tough going from know to not knowing.

Because our school district is half days, the bus takes her to a wrap around program afterward. She seems to be adjusting well to her new schedule. We can’t be happier and more proud of our little girl.

Tuesday, Craig and I, took our little girl to Kindergarten.  Here she is with the sign that she hand wrote (Craig’s idea).

The following day Dagny started taking the school bus to school.  Here she is waiting.  She was so excited.

Five Times

We decided to get a season pass to Seabreeze now that Dagny is old enough to truly enjoy it. I knew she would like it, but I didn’t expect how much. She is an adrenaline junkie.  She loves, loves the roller-coasters, which she rides at least five-times a visit. After she got off one of the roller-coasters, I asked her if should would like to go on the carousal. Her responds was, “Nah, it’s too slow. ” Alright then.

Doodle Bugs Class of 2012

Friday night Dagny had her Pre-K  graduation from Doodle Bugs.  It was a bitter sweet event. Witnessing how much all the kids have grown in the past couple of years was pretty amazing. But, also made for a sad moment knowing that many of the kids wouldn’t see each other again.  Everyone was on their own paths moving on to their own elementary school. We (the parents) promised to stay in touch and I am sure some of us will, but life is going to get busy and realistically this was the end to some friendships.

It was truly a wonderful event were all the kids did a wonderful job. I am so proud of all of them, especially the long brown hair girl in the center.

We are so proud of you Little Miss D.

Love Mommy and Daddy!

The graduate, Miss Dagny!
